What Is the Drop-In Lens Mount?

The Drop-In Lens Mount is a swappable piece that lives in your Moment phone case. It’s what allows you to securely attach Moment lenses (like the 58mm Tele or Anamorphic Blue) to your phone. It’s lightweight, durable, and built to handle daily use.

There are two ways to get it:

What's in the Box?

If you ordered just the mount, here’s what you’ll find inside:

  • The Drop-In Lens Mount for your specific phone model
  • A clean, simple box (pro tip: use it to store your old trim ring!)

Setting Up the Drop-In Lens Mount

Step 1: Remove the Trim Ring

Every Moment case comes with a trim ring already installed. It’s a sleek, flush cover for your phone’s camera area when you’re not using lenses. To install the drop-in mount, you’ll need to pop that trim ring out.

Here’s how:

  1. Take the case off your phone and flip it backside-up on a clean surface.
  2. Gently press from the outside of the camera cutout inward. You’ll hear the trim ring pop out.
  3. Set it aside in a safe place. We recommend storing it in your case box so you don’t lose it.

Step 2: Install the Drop-In Mount

Now it’s time to drop in (literally) the lens mount.

  1. Double-check the size. Make sure the mount matches your phone model, it should be labeled clearly (e.g., “16 Pro” for iPhone 16 Pro).
  2. Line up the notches. There’s a small notch on the inside of your Moment case and a matching one on the mount. Align them.
  3. Press it in. The mount will feel snug, that’s on purpose. It’ll click into place with a little pressure. Don't worry, you’re not breaking anything.

How To Attach a Moment Lens

Before snapping the case back on your phone, try installing a lens while everything is off.

Let’s use the Tele 58mm Lens as an example:

  1. Line up the lens grooves with the lens mount.
  2. Twist it in until it locks.
  3. It might feel tight at first, but it loosens up with a few uses.

Once your lens is mounted, snap the phone back into the case and double-check that everything looks even and secure. Ensure the inside corners of the mount are flush and smooth to the back of the case.

Boom. You’re ready to shoot.

Why Use a Drop-In Mount?

The Drop-In Lens Mount is a simple but essential piece of gear for any mobile creator. It’s lightweight, so it doesn’t add unnecessary bulk to your case, and your phone still feels sleek and easy to handle. The mount offers a secure, reliable fit that keeps your Moment lenses firmly in place, with no slipping or rattling, even during long shooting sessions.

And if you ever misplace or damage it, no worries. It’s replaceable. You won’t need to buy a whole new case. Built to last, the Drop-In Mount is designed for long-term, daily use, making it a dependable tool in your mobile photography kit.
